(Arizona) - Partisan leaders on both sides have finally found something they agree on. From far right partisan Republicans like Russel Pearce, Robert Graham, and Governor Jan Brewer, to partisan Democratic State Sen. Steve Gallardo, the threat of a political process under Proposition 121 that would encourage candidates to appeal to a broader constituency, has brought two otherwise enemies together.

A representative democracy can only survive when the most people can participate in a meaningful manner.

On Election Eve, Facebook is buzzing with status updates, photos, GOTV messages, and political opinions from politicians, candidates, and voters all using the network to get involved in the political process. Facebook is the perfect opportunity for those who are not constantly involved in politics to share their opinions and enter the political dialogue.

Every four years, on the Tuesday after November’s first Monday, American citizens will walk, drive, bus, train to their designated voting polls across the nation. Perhaps they’ll buy a cupcake from a nearby bake sale, some will leave with various congratulatory buttons and stickers, and, somewhere along the way these eligible voters will collectively decide on the next president of the United States along with multiple ballot measures and local candidates.
