Obama Wins Florida

President Obama has won the vital swing state of Florida with 49.9 percent of the vote. Long after Obama accepted the nomination last night, the state finally processed all the ballots. The Washington Post reported, with all precincts accounted for, that Obama carried the state by a tiny margin. Mitt Romney received 49.3 percent of the vote.

Proposition 40 passed with an overwhelming 71 percent of the vote. A rather confusing redistricting proposition, Prop 40 is a veto referendum which provides voters with the opportunity to approve or reject the Senate district boundaries approved by the Citizens Redistricting Commission.

Richard Roth wins in SD 31 with 53 percent of the vote. His opponent Jeff Miller collected 46 percent of the vote with 100 percent of precincts reporting. The race opposed Republican Assembly Member Jeff Miller and Democrat Richard Roth in the newly redistricted 31st district.
