1. Media Blackout of DNC Lawsuit

Reports released Friday morning that Swedish prosecutors have discontinued an investigation into rape allegations against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Assange has been living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since August 2012 to avoid extradition. At 6:04 am PDT, Assange tweeted his own statement:

U.S. Reps. Jodey Arrington (R-Texas) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) introduced a House Joint Resolution Thursday that proposes a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on members of Congress.

The proposed amendment would limit members of the U.S. Senate to two terms and members of the House to 6 terms. In other words, no senator or representative would be able to hold on to their seat longer than 12 years.

On Tuesday, The Campaign Legal Center released a statement expressing its disappointment that Hillary Clinton's new 501(c)(4), Onward Together, will not commit to donor disclosure. The Campaign Legal Center says this breaks Hillary's campaign promise to "end secret, unaccountable money in politics."

The public outcry in Washington over Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ order last week directing federal prosecutors to charge defendants with the most serious crimes possible is growing.

This week, a bipartisan group of Senators, Rand Paul (R-KY), Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Jeff Merkley(D-OR) have reintroduced the Justice Safety Valve Act in response to Sessions’ order. Paul highlighted this effort on Twitter Tuesday evening, calling Congress to "come together in a bipartisan way."
