The political wheels in the state of West Virginia are rapidly turning.

At a Trump rally last week, Governor Jim Justice announced he was switching his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. And now the state's GOP is looking to run over its Democratic senator, Joe Manchin, who is up for re-election next year.

The Colorado Republican Party is considering nominating its candidates through caucus rather than an open primary that would allow unaffiliated voters (independents) to participate.

Voters approved two ballot initiatives in November that a) require Colorado to use primaries in presidential elections and b) open all statewide primary elections to independent voters.

Fallout from the election in Venezuela is turning violent. A military base near the capital, Caracas, was attacked by armed men. The government claims to have quelled the attack, but not before some of the assailants made off with weapons.

A YouTube video was released early Sunday morning calling for Venezuelans to rebel against President Nicolas Maduro after his party established an all-powerful assembly meant to secure its grip over the country.

The verdict is in: Americans are sick and tired of the Democrats, Republicans, and the extremely wealthy and influential corporate and media interests that support them.

As Americans struggle financially and our nation faces grave threats both domestic and abroad, they are greeted on their television screens by Anthony Scaramucci, the founder of a $12.4 billion company, who served as media spokesman for one day in order to orchestrate a pre-determined coup of Reince Priebus.

Sessions on the Leaks

In what could be a dramatic news conference, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats will discuss the administration's ongoing efforts to combat intelligence leaks, according to a Justice Department statement.

President Trump signed new sanctions against Russia, Iran, and North Korea after overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress.

The vote on new sanctions comes as an investigation into possible election meddling and cyberattacks by Russia continues. It was one of the rare instances where both sides of the aisle were able to come together and pass legislation

But there were 5 US lawmakers who voted against the bill: 4 libertarians and 1 progressive independent.
