San Diego, Calif- By a vote of 8-1 Monday, the San Diego City Council removed developer parking requirements for new condominium and apartment complexes in neighborhoods near mass transit.

The "near" mass transit requirement is defined as neighborhoods located within half a mile of a trolley line, a bus rapid transit station or two high-frequency bus routes.

And, the transit must be operating or scheduled to begin operating within five years.

Roe says he "does not plan to be active in 2020 except for Gaspar," a reference to San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar, who will be on the 2020 November ballot.

WASHINGTON, DC - The sweeping electoral reform measures encompassed in H.R. 1 expanded even further with the addition of a ranked choice voting clause.

Backers of the bill recently added language proposed by U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md) who represents the district that includes FairVote’s national offices. The common sense change to the bill aims to help states and cities run ranked choice voting elections all the more efficiently by requiring funding for new voting systems to make use of RCV-compatible equipment.

Specifically, the clause states:

Deputy District Attorney Nereida Melgarejo didn't mince words regarding 37-year-old Francisco Morales and his danger to the community.

Morales is accused flooding 1810 State street, a luxurious eight story apartment building in Little Italy. He has pleaded not guilty to dozens of charges.
