WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Donald Trump accepted the resignation of UN Ambassador Nikki Haley Tuesday, who said in her resignation letter that she was leaving public life for the private sector.

The announcement has stunned many politicos and media personalities as the big questions now linger:

Why now?

And what does this mean for Haley's political future?

Haley said she planned on campaigning for President Trump, and will not challenge him in the 2020 presidential primary.

So what is going on?

Welcome to the IVN Election Special Podcast: A Look at the Big Races For California Voters.

The future of California will go to the voters on November 6th, and voters are energized.

Californians are registering to vote in record numbers. Nearly 1.5 million more people are registered to vote than were in the last midterm election in 2014, according to the California Secretary of State’s Office.

San Diego, CA.- Former Chargers owner Alex Spanos has died at the age of 95.

Spanos' death comes two months after the passing of his wife Faye.

Spanos purchased 60 percent of the Chargers in 1984 from Gene Klein for $70 million. For Spanos it was the culmination of a life-long dream to own an NFL franchise.  The pinnacle of his  ownership with the Chargers was reaching the Super Bowl in 1994.

One of my recent articles, “The Mistake You Make in Every Political Argument” (Mistake) made the claim that most political arguments that seem to turn on a disagreement over moral values actually hinge on a disagreement about empirical facts.

Mistake was shared by thousands of people of all political persuasions because they saw power in its diagnosis of, and prescription for, our incessant talking past each other when it comes to politics.

San Diego, CA.- Prop. 10 is developing into a huge battle as rent control advocates and those opposed dig in their heels.

Since 1995, under the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act, Californians who rent apartments, single-family homes or condominiums have had limited protections from rising prices.

That could change if voters pass Proposition 10 in November.

COLORADO - Imagine an anti-gerrymandering campaign that had such broad support across the political spectrum that it was endorsed by both major political parties, was overwhelmingly approved for the ballot by the state legislature, and bans partisan gerrymandering completely.

Sounds impossible, doesn't it? Especially in today's political environment. If something threatens the power of the parties, there is no way they will endorse it. Yet, in the purple state of Colorado, such a campaign does exist.

California is one of 36 states holding an election for governor in 2018 to replace outgoing Governor Jerry Brown (D), who is constitutionally unable to run for a third consecutive term in the state of California. The top two open primary winners facing off in November are Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom (D) and businessman John Cox (R). In a radio debate Monday, the two answered questions from the KQED debate moderator and pre-recorded questions from voters throughout the state. Here's what they had to say.
