Thank you to everyone who attended our 2021 Virtual Summit on December 10. We celebrated tremendous milestones this year and set the stage for an exciting 2022 election cycle.
I am pleased to announce that our networking series Reformers Unite! will resume on January 7 for members only. We will also be announcing new member benefits in 2022. If you are not a member yet, consider joining today!
We will begin our masterclass, “Reformers Lead,” on January 21. This monthly series is tailored to the unique needs of those who are working in the pro-democracy movement. Only the first 30 people will be admitted to the first cohort, and participants can expect a personal, engaging experience that will sharpen both their “hard” and “soft” leadership skills.
We are entering a new year on a high note and I am excited to see where we take the pro-democracy reform movement in 2022. I wish you all a happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year!

AMERICAN PROMISE
American Promise is hosting its monthly American Promise Connect meeting on January 3 at 7 PM (Eastern). Each month, viewers will receive campaign updates from senior American Promise staff, shared strategies and success stories from chapter leaders and volunteers, and staff will take questions on the group’s constitutional amendment and its national campaign efforts from Americans across the nation. In addition, each month American Promise Connect will ‘Spotlight’ the important work of the group’s latest volunteers and supporters, and will provide interviews with leaders from a range of communities who support the mission to enact the 28th Amendment. VIRTUAL DISCUSSION
Open Primaries and IndependentVoting.org’s Politics for the People will co-host a virtual discussion event with former presidential candidate and founder of the Forward Party, Andrew Yang, on January 12 at 3 PM (Eastern). Yang recently left the Democratic Party to start his own party which focuses on structural pro-voter reform. Open Primaries President John Opdycke and Politics for the People Founder Cathy Stewart will dive deep into all things Andrew Yang, and most importantly what he thinks about your questions on why now is the time to embrace reform and how he’s going to advance the cause. RANK THE VOTE
Rank The Vote announced during the NANR summit that over the past 12 months, its partners have more than tripled ranked choice voting (RCV) supporters within their networks, and signed up over 4,000 volunteers. The growth in activism and support has translated into additional municipal wins for RCV. In November, RCV won at the ballot box in Broomfield, CO, Westbrook, ME, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Several organizations across the country are actively involved in or planning municipal campaigns for 2022 and beyond.

Only 7% of young Americans believe the US has a “healthy democracy,” including only 5% of voters not affiliated with either major party. The Harvard poll found that a plurality of respondents across the political spectrum would also prefer seeing “elected officials meet in the middle –– at the expense of my preferred policy priorities,” rather than continue to see public officials refuse to work with the “other side.”
