Deep tax cuts and major changes to the individual tax system have been proposed by President Donald Trump and his team. President Trump’s economic advisors laid out the plan in an effort to strengthen his economic and legislative agenda as he nears the 100-day mark of his presidency.

The plan includes some notable changes from the rhetoric we’ve heard these last few months.

On Wednesday, the FCC's Trump appointed chairman, Ajit Pai, announced the new plan to roll back Obama era net neutrality rules created by the agency’s 2015 Open Internet Order, calling it “an aberration” that “puts the federal government at the center of the internet.”

The Supreme Court of the United States will consider whether or not to take up two open primary cases in Montana and Hawaii at its May 11 conference. The cases were brought by the majority party in both states in an effort to get rid of the open primary process.

Lower federal courts in both cases ruled that neither the Democratic Party of Hawaii nor the Republican Party of Montana were able to produce sufficient evidence that the open partisan primary process burdened their constitutional rights of association -- the main complaint from both parties.

Several of Trump’s executive orders have now been blocked by federal district court judges.

First the travel ban, then on Tuesday President Trump’s sanctuary city executive order was blocked by U.S. District Judge William Orrick. The judge issued a temporary ruling in a lawsuit against the executive order targeting so-called sanctuary cities.

Last week, MSNBC's Morning Joe criticized the Democratic leadership for not being accepting of candidates that do not toe an ideological line. Some rising candidates in the South are having trouble getting support from their own party.

San Diego, CALIF.— According to multiple reports, the USS Vinson strike carrier group out of San Diego has almost reached the Korean Peninsula.

Two Japanese destroyers will join the group as well as several South Korean ships. Over the next few days, the U.S. Air Force will also be conducting exercises in the region.

It is certainly a big week in the land of hypocrisy.

Tax reform, Obamacare, the border wall, and a possible government shutdown are all on the table as Congress wrestles with progress and its 17% approval rating.

Political experts note that if President Trump is able to get through the next two weeks with any semblance of achievement on those three crucial points, defeating him in 2020 will be incredibly difficult.

And, with much at stake, get ready for an overdose of alternative facts.

Get ready for Washington hypocrisy and talk of gridlock.
