When he was candidate Donald Trump, the GOP hopeful ran a campaign promising protections for American workers from system abuses.
Last week, we released our Dubious Democracy 2016 dataset on U.S. House elections. The story that the 2016 election data tells is damning. Like past elections, the 2016 U.S. House elections proved to be incredibly uncompetitive.
There is no doubt that one of the most broken of all government agencies is the VHA (Veterans Health Administration). Many veterans -- including myself -- feel Congress is just dragging its feet with the Veterans Healthcare System in general. But like the old adage goes, "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." Then there's, "A complaint without a solution is just whining."
On Wednesday, representatives from the Independent Voter Project went to Sacramento to voice their opposition to Assembly Bill 837. The bill, brought by Assemblymember Evan Low, is geared toward educating no party preference voters on how to participate in the state’s semi-closed primary elections.

During the Thursday episode of the Ron Paul Liberty Report, Dr. Ron Paul interviewed WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange.
Paul and Assange discuss CIA Director Mike Pompeo's remarks about WikiLeaks, calling it a "non-state hostile intelligence service," and said the U.S. should no longer allow WikiLeaks "the latitude to use free speech values against us.”
Even with new approval of a GOP health care bill from the Freedom Caucus that could provide the votes to repeal and replace Obamacare, another major focus for the GOP and many Americans is tax reform. At the University of California, Berkeley, a speech by conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter was canceled in the wake of growing threats of violent protests. Such violence has already erupted multiple times this y
Deep tax cuts and major changes to the individual tax system have been proposed by President Donald Trump and his team. President Trump’s economic advisors laid out the plan in an effort to strengthen his economic and legislative agenda as he nears the 100-day mark of his presidency.
The plan includes some notable changes from the rhetoric we’ve heard these last few months.
On Wednesday, the FCC's Trump appointed chairman, Ajit Pai, announced the new plan to roll back Obama era net neutrality rules created by the agency’s 2015 Open Internet Order, calling it “an aberration” that “puts the federal government at the center of the internet.”
The FCC then quickly went on defense, and released the following fact sheet to get ahead of expected detractors. I've added some additional annotations to qualify the claims of the FCC.
