Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the USC Schwarzenegger Institute convened the Terminate Gerrymandering Summit on January 10 at the University of Southern California. The Summit brought together campaigns, academics, activists, and redistricting commissioners to celebrate the victories of the 2018 midterms.

San Diego, Calif.- It's official, Congressman Scott Peters will not be running for Mayor of San Diego in 2020. He will however be on the ticket in 2020 for re-election to the 52nd Congressional district.

In a statement sent to the media Wednesday, Peters announced he has "decided Congress is the place he can do the most good for our city and our nation. In 2020, he will run for re-election to Congress."

San Diego, Calif.- The City of San Diego is expected to file a lawsuit against San Diego Gas and Electric over costs and complications related to the Pure Water project, sources tell IVN San Diego.

The city is building the more than $1 billion water recycling project, that when completed, will purify about a third of the city's drinking water by 2035.

CNN reported Friday that US Rep. Tulsi Gabbard will run for the Democratic nomination in the 2020 presidential race. Gabbard made the announcement during an interview slated to air at 7pm Saturday on "The Van Jones Show."

"There are a lot of reasons for me to make this decision. There are a lot of challenges that are facing the American people that I'm concerned about and that I want to help solve," said Gabbard.
