Let me state this right up front. I dislike political signs. I consider them litter. I cringe when I see them sprouting up like weeds in my neighborhood in the weeks before an election is held. If I could restrict them to being in people’s yards or the windows of homes or businesses, I’d enjoy my neighborhood walks so much more.  

President-Elect Joe Biden repeatedly told voters leading up to Election Day and during his acceptance speech that though he was a proud Democrat, he was going to be a president for all Americans. He passionately called for unity in a time of deep political division.

Yet, the nation’s leading anti-corruption organization, RepresentUs, noted Monday that ending the hyper-partisan divide and addressing policy paralysis doesn’t appear high on the new administration’s priorities.

More than 238,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 with 908 of those deaths in San Diego County as of Monday morning. San Diego County health officials warned if cases continue to increase, locals will have to revert back to the most restrictive rules again.

As COVID-19 continues to keep some schools closed, IVN San Diego reached out to parents to find out their biggest struggles. A strong Internet connection proved to be one of the biggest challenges. Watch the video for more.

Growing up in Madison, Wis., Stephen Whitburn said he was taught civic engagement mattered. But what mattered even more than civic engagement is doing the right thing. 

America is waiting for the drama of the 2020 presidential election to play itself out. Votes are still being counted. Lawsuits have and will continue to be filed. The heated divide between the parties is on full display while US voters desperately want politicians to put the needs of the country ahead of the gain-seeking interests of their parties.

Now that Californians have voted to keep ride-hailing drivers classified as contractors with limited job benefits, unions are shoring up their defenses as labor lawyers eye legal challenges and hope that Democrat Joe Biden ekes out a White House victory.
