Reality is chronic diseases, illnesses and conditions impact each and every one of us. The harsh, but unfortunate truth is not if, but when you or someone you love will be impacted by that fate. For my family, that day became a reality when our newborn daughter was diagnosed with a fatal immunodeficiency disease that would only give her a couple of years to live.
The challenges presented to schools by the pandemic, particularly those serving students and families living in historically under-resourced communities, aren’t new -- these problems have long existed. But, the pandemic has exacerbated them, and it’s time we address these long-term challenges by how we are adapting in the short-term due to COVID-19.

Joe Biden, if he wins the presidency, has promised to create a bipartisan commission to recommend changes to the “out of whack” American court system. The commission’s prime focus will almost certainly be the Supreme Court, which to Democrats is about as out of whack as it can get.
