This month, California’s Citizens Redistricting Commission will release its first draft maps of the boundaries for the state’s Assembly, Senate, Board of Equalization and Congressional districts. 

Although the latest piece from the Associated Press attempts to throw at least a bone of coverage to Independent voters with the 2012 election coming up, it is riddled with superficial analysis and even unfairly ignores a number of critical factors.

San Diego is the world leader of research into creating petroleum-based products from algae (AKA pond scum.) The potential is certainly there.  All it takes to create algae for biofuel is lots of sun, level ground, and a little water.  It is best grown in deserts, and the nearby Imperial Valley is an ideal location.
